The Value of Household Preparedness

This video points out that during a crisis, especially a wide-scale crisis such as a severe storm, staff may be worried about family members, friends, pets, or important possessions. Having a household plan can reduce this anxiety, help keep people productive, and increases the safety net to those outside of the facility since they are also doing preparedness planning. #52 Staff members are encouraged to have emergency plans for their households.

After Action Report

This video makes the point that having these reports is a good way to notify management of any issues that need attention. These reports can be positive and used to highlight how well a situation was handled. Use your Ready Rating Assessment Report to help you identify activities that will (1) ensure you have plans in place to respond and recover from disruptions and (2) build awareness and experience within your organization. Summarize any issues or areas of improvement along with suggested solutions, possible workarounds, and budget impacts. Be sure that each member of the senior management team is clear about obstacles that may be encountered and document any decisions that need to be made. Include recommendations/actions based on the Ready Rating Assessment and Next Steps Report.
